Aussie icons unite! Robert Irwin to team up with Bluey for very special project: ‘You’ll love all of it’

Robert Irwin has joined forces with his fellow Aussie icon Bluey to be the face of a special campaign for Tourism and Events Queensland.

The conservationist, 20, is fronting a $9.2million international tourism campaign designed to bring more visitors into the state.

In a newly-dropped promotional video for the campaign, Irwin asks viewers: ‘Ever wish you could live in Bluey’s world? Well, that’s all of Queensland!’

Irwin is then seen launching a red balloon into the air to begin a round of ‘keepy uppy’, the fun Bluey game where characters try to keep a balloon off the ground.

The footage then cuts to the balloon floating across some iconic QLD sights, including the Great Barrier Reef, the outback and the Gold Coast beach.

‘You’ll love all of Queensland,’ Irwin adds, as the screen cuts to the campaign slogan which says: ‘Come and play in Bluey’s world, QLD.’

The campaign aims to bring over one million tourists into the state, and will be aired internationally in many countries, including the US, Japan, United Kingdom and New Zealand, reports The Brisbane Times.

The marketing campaign is a collaboration between Tourism and Events Queensland and BBC Studios in the UK.

It comes after tickets to the highly anticipated Bluey’s World exhibit in Brisbane went on sale last month.

Fans can now purchase a general admission ticket to the immersive experience ahead of its grand opening on November 7 – Prices start from $49.90.

The world-first Bluey attraction will provide fans of the hit Aussie kids show with a tour through life-size recreations of the show’s houses and allow them to meet some of the show’s beloved characters.

Located in the upmarket suburb of Hamilton, it will run until April 27, 2025 and is expected to inject millions of dollars into the economy.

The ‘immersive’ experience will last for almost two hours.

It is initially slated to just be a pop-up attraction which remains up until Easter 2025, but depending on how popular it is a more permanent attraction may be built.

‘Embark on a brand-new immersive journey with Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad in their beloved home, backyard and beyond. Explore your favourite rooms, play interactive games, and keep your eyes peeled for surprises… maybe even a Longdog or two,’ a statement from the organiser said.
