  •  Unusual retro lamp sells for between $750 and $1000
  • Confusion over price of lamp now resolved

An Aussie influencer has been caught up in a very public misunderstanding over her purchase of a $1,000 retro lamp at a Sydney antique store.

Luci Levant, a model and influencer with 75,000 Instagram followers and 46,000 on TikTok, bought the 1970s pop art style lamp from Mitchell Road Antiques Centre in Alexandria last weekend.

But soon after the purchase of the distinctive white lamp worth between $750 and $1000, the antique centre posted images of Ms Levant from the store’s CCTV claiming there had been a mix up over price tags.

Meanwhile, Ms Levant posted an image of herself on Instagram with the white lamp in the background next to her bed. The post has since been deleted.

When contacted by Daily Mail Australia on Thursday, the antiques store said the discrepancy over the price ‘has been resolved’ and that the ‘full payment has been made’ for the lamp.

Comment has sought from Ms Levant, a model on the books of the famous Priscilla’s agency.

The lamp was part of large range of mid-century and 1970s furniture and homewares at the centre, a huge warehouse which relocated to Bourke Road, Alexandria during the Covid pandemic.

Ms  Levant described her style last year on a modelling shoot as ‘Effortless, monochromatic and grungy’

For the shoot, for New Balance shoes, Ms Levant revealed some of her lifestyle in a series of questions about her fashion, saying ‘in summer, I’m always in denim’ and that she’d be ‘sunbaking at the beach or in my backyard in a bikini with a big bowl of fruit’.

She said she’d be wearing the shoes ‘all summer with some baggy jeans, a singlet and some cool sunnies, or going for walks and grabbing coffee’.
