Aussie influencers shocked after learning that popular children’s game has a different name in each state – so what do YOU call it?

Annie Knight and Taila Maddison were stunned on Wednesday after they learnt that a popular children’s game has a different name in each state.

Annie was telling her Double Dose podcast co-host how she used to play a game as a child which involves running away from a designated player while they try to catch you.

‘I was five or six and we were playing chasey around the house,’ she began.

A producer then interrupted her and questioned: ‘Chasey? You mean tag.’

‘I call it chasey,’ Annie responded before Taila admitted: ‘I haven’t heard that either. We used to call it tip.’

‘You run and chase people. I call it chasey,’ Annie insisted.

‘This is interesting. I didn’t know this, so different states must call it different things,’ she added.

Taila said: ‘I can’t believe this. We have three different names from three different states.’

The game involves one player being selected to be the ‘it’.

They then chase the others, attempting to ‘tag’ one of them by touching them with a hand.

The tagged player then becomes the ‘it’ and the game continues.

It comes after Media Week recently announced the top 100 influencers for 2023 based on their social media engagement and loyal list of followers.

Sitting at the top of the list is actor Hugh Jackman, who boasts 80million followers across Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
