Tributes have poured in for an Aussie teen who was killed in a motorbike crash while holidaying in Thailand.

Melbourne plumber Carlos Guirguis, 19, was visiting Koh Samui, Thailand’s second-largest island, when tragedy struck in the early hours of March 27.

The young tourist was on a motorbike attempting to overtake a Thai motorist while when they collided.

Mr Guirguis was thrown from the motorbike and hit a road sign in front of a nearby 7-Eleven.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time and suffered catastrophic head injuries.

Emergency services were unable to revive him at the scene.

‘A Honda brand motorcycle was found parked on its side next to the sign of a 7-Eleven convenience store. Nearby, the body of a white foreign man was found,’ Thai police said in a statement.

‘(He) was not wearing and was lying dead with a serious wound. There were pieces of his body scattered on the floor and a lot of blood flowing.’

Early investigations indicated Mr Guirguis was travelling at a high speed and swerved into the Thai driver, causing the collision.

Mr Guirguis’ shattered colleagues at Neighborhood Plumbing led the outpouring of tributes for the teen.

‘It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to one of our own, Carlos Guirguis,’ the post read.

‘Loved by all, he was a beautiful, kind and gentle soul who brought warmth everywhere he went. His infectious smile lit us all up and his genuine care for others was felt by each of us.

‘Taken too soon, he remains close to our hearts. We will remember his laughter, kindness and countless moments that made him so special.

‘Rest easy Carlos, we love you.’

A relative confirmed Mr Guirguis’ death in a post on Sunday and asked their family be given time to grieve.

‘Our family is still processing this profound loss, and we are finding comfort in the support of those around us during this incredibly difficult time,’ they wrote.

‘At the moment, we are still working out the details regarding the funeral arrangements, and we do not yet have a confirmed date.

‘Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated as we navigate through this sorrowful period. Please know that your support means the world to us.’

An autopsy has been completed and an investigation into the fatal crash is underway.
