Aussie viewers savage season two premiere of the Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That – and one character continues to infuriate die-hard fans
The hotly anticipated season two premiere of And Just Like That… premiered on Thursday on Binge – and viewers were left divided over the bombshell episode.
Viewers took to Twitter to discuss the series premiere, with many thrilled to see the return of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.
However it was a new character in the Sex and the City universe that set most tongues wagging – and left many enraged.
Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), who plays established character Miranda Hobbes’ queer non-binary lover in the series, polarized viewers.
‘Che continues to just be a terrible person,’ wrote one Australian viewer after watching the episode.

They continued their tirade, ‘Seems And Just Like That Season 2 should be subtitled ‘The Humiliation of Miranda Hobbs’ #Justice4Steve,’ in a reference to Miranda’s ex, Steve Brady.
Miranda left her husband Steve to be with Che during the show’s first season.
However not everyone hated the new character, with one Aussie viewer writing, ‘Che Diaz is the break out character in season 2 #AndJustLikeThat.’
They continued, ‘Is the bar that low or have they evolved as a character? I will say, they were the only person that revealed strips of humanity in the first two episodes. Everyone else seemed like a caricature of themselves!’
Others were critical of the season 2 debut in general, with one fan quipping, ‘And just like that … they both started projectile vomiting … & I switched over to an old Colombo re-run … and loved it!’
The explosive new season sees Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) – who famously cheated on Aidan (John Corbett) with her true love Mr Big (Chris Noth) – email her first great love while her unsuspecting fling Franklyn (Ivan Hernandez) sleeps in her bed.

Elsewhere, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and her comedian partner Che are seen going from strength-to-strength on vacation – before Miranda realizes that Che’s party lifestyle is threatening to overwhelm her.
Miranda’s scorned estranged husband Steve (David Eigenberg) also makes a long awaited appearance – after the former lawyer broke his heart by cheating on him in the first season.
However, there is no sign of Samantha Jones, after it was sensationally revealed Kim Cattrall will make a superstar cameo in the new season – despite warring with SJP for years.
And Just Like That… follows the ladies from the iconic 90s drama show Sex and the City at a later stage in their life and is designed to appeal to both new and old viewers.
