Aussies lose it over the return of ‘cringe’ shoe style everyone remembers from 2010: ‘I can’t do this again’

Millennials are reeling over the return of a pair of ‘Tumblr famous’ boots that hit peak popularity in 2011.

The Jeffrey Campbell Lita Boots have made a surprisingly comeback with the ‘iconic’ black and brown heels.

The lace-up shoes, which were first released in July 2010, are designed with a five inch (12.7cm) heel and 2.5inch (6cm) front platform – a style that became an instant hit at the time.

News of the release has sent customers into a spin on social media – and opinions have been divided.

Fans looking to rock the style can purchase them on the brand website – with an array of nostalgic prints available including the American flag, leopard, and even a galaxy print on offer.

Hundreds shared their excitement as they were never allowed to purchase the boots as a young teenager.

‘I finally have adult money to buy them!’ one wrote on TikTok.

‘I’ve been waiting for this moment so I can heal my inner child who couldn’t afford them,’ another said.

Others who threw their old Lita Boots out were pleased to finally get their hands on a new pair.

‘I fell down a flight off stairs in these!’ one joked.

‘I’m going to need some knee high litas, Jeffrey,’ another said.

‘I unironically love them so much, I hated that I was only 13 when they were popular,’ one more said.

But some weren’t as enthusiastic and wondered why the style is being brought back.

‘Wait… are we doing 2010s nostalgia now? I can’t deal with this,’ one said.

Another added: ‘No I can’t watch this happen again.’

‘What!?’ a third wrote in shock.
