The Socceroos starting line-up has been revealed ahead of their clash against the heavily favoured Danes in their second round match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. 

The most notable name missing from the line-up is Australian football star and five-time World Cup goal scorer Tim Cahill who coach Bert van Marwijk opted to leave out of the team.

The Socceroos will take on Denmark at the at the Samara Arena in Samara, 1,062km from the Russian capital.

Meanwhile betting markets have the Danes as $2.05 favourites to end Australia’s hopes of making it out of the pool stage of the tournament. 

The team list was shared on the Socceroos Twitter page and prompted a number of Twitter users to comment on the make up of the team.
