Australia Post is hiking up the prices to send parcels, prepaid envelopes and satchels across the country.

However, there will be no change on the cost of domestic stamps.

An Australia Post media spokesman told Daily Mail Australia that the cost for sending international letters will rise by 1.9 percent.

But postage for cards sent to regions like USA, UK, Europe will go down.

The spokesman said: ‘These pricing changes will ensure we can continue to invest in our large and trusted delivery network, covering more than 4000 post offices and 11.6 million delivery points each day.

‘This will also allow us to manage increasing costs across the delivery network.

‘For most products this is the first price increase in over 12 months.’
