Australian actress reveals the shocking demand Hollywood producers made of her before she acted opposite Bruce Willis: ‘Cut it off’

An Australian actress has revealed Hollywood producers asked her to ‘cut off’ a mole on her face before she could star alongside heavyweight Bruce Willis.

Radha Mitchell, 50, first shot to fame on Neighbours before making it big in the US, starring alongside big hitters such as Vin Diesel, Nicholas Cage and Denzel Washington.

But when she landed a role on the 2009 flick Surrogates alongside Bruce, 69, Radha said on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show on Wednesday that a big wig demanded she remove a mole from her cheek.

‘Looking back when you were younger, I think one of the directors had said to you to get your mole removed?’ host Jessica Rowe questioned the former soap star.

‘Yeah how could they suggest such a thing… vandalism. I mean that’s how I saw it,’ she responded.

‘There was much debate because I was going to play a robot and a robot would not have a mole. So there was like a lot of conversation.’

Radha went on to say even her mother told her to ‘just cut it off’ so she could have the opportunity to star alongside Bruce Willis in the sci-fi action film.

‘So the compromise was, okay, you could shave it down, but leave the base of it there,’ the veteran actress added.

Radha said the makeup artists on set then ‘airbrushed’ her to give the appearance of a perfect robot, so her mole wasn’t visible in the movie.

The former soap star first shot to fame in the mid ’90s when she starred as Catherine O’Brien on Neighbours from 1996 to 1997.

Radha then jetted over to Hollywood in search of fame, landing several supporting and leading gigs throughout her career.

She starred in the cult classic Pitch Black as well as Man on Fire, Finding Neverland, Silent Hill, and even made a brief return to Aussie TV for ABC Television’s Troppo.

Her career spans decades with work across many genres including action, sci-fi and thriller.

The Melbourne native has received an FCCA Award as well as nominations for AFI and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Radha keeps her personal life very private with her only public relationship being with New Zealand actor Martin Henderson from 2005 to 2006.

'Yeah how could they suggest such a thing... Vandalism. I mean that's how I saw it,' Radha said on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show
