An Australian teenager is lucky to be alive after a metal object launched out from under a lawn mower and into his neck.
The teen’s father was driving a ride-on lawn mower when he hit a metal tent peg hidden in the grass.
The peg flung out from the mower with speed and speared the teenager’s neck.

In an x-ray of the teenager’s injuries the metal peg seems to be lodged at the bottom of his jaw and through his throat
He was rushed to hospital where doctors were miraculously able to remove the peg.

He also suffered lacerations to his face in the accident.
The teenager and his father spoke to 7 News.
‘At one stage, I thought that was it,’ the father said.
