Australian DJ reveals the shocking accident that landed her in a Bali hospital

An Australian DJ who suffered bleeding in the brain after a horrific accident in Bali has broken her silence.

DJ and OnlyFans star Courtney Mills said she fell down a flight of stairs at her Bali home, smashing her head and causing major bruising to her body.

She was kept in hospital for four days and has been told she is unable to return home to Melbourne until the swelling in her brain goes down.

Ms Mills faces the prospect of needing emergency brain surgery if the condition does not improve.

She shared details of the terrifying ordeal to social media on Wednesday.

‘I’ve had three CT scans,’ she told her 119,000 Instagram followers.

‘The neurosurgeon explained my brain had rattled back and forth so I’ve got swelling and bleeding on the right side of my brain.’

Ms Mills said spending four days in a Bali hospital had been a ‘horrible’ experience.

She said had been discharged and was currently at home recovering, but was due to go back to hospital in two weeks to find out if she needed further treatment.

Ms Mills said that doctors had forbidden her from returning to Melbourne until confirming whether surgery was required to release pressure from her injuries.

‘I’ve asked to go back to Australia but I’m not safe to fly because of the bleeding and swelling in my brain,’ she told Daily Telegraph.

After initially being released from a public hospital, Ms Mills said she returned to a private hospital where doctors discovered the seriousness of her head injuries along with a fractured coccyx.

‘They sent me straight to emergency. I was put in a room for three and a half days with a drip. I wasn’t coherent at all,’ she said.

Ms Mills told her Instagram followers she wanted to ‘clarify’ the situation after being attacked online for a fundraising page set up by a friend to assist in covering expensive medical costs.

Friend Lauren Fankhauser launched a GoFundMe fundraiser page while Ms Mills was hospitalised without health insurance, claiming the costs had already exceeded $3,000.

‘To all the haters: please just leave me alone, I need to rest,’ Ms Mills said on Instagram while fighting back tears.

Ms Mills said the fall down the stairs came after wearing high heel shoes for the first time after an extended period.

It’s not the first time Ms Mills has been the subject of a GoFundMe page following an incident on the popular holiday island.

In 2018, Ms Mills and friend Matthew Davis were injured during a motorbike accident.

She was discharged from hospital but Mr Davis was told he may have to undergo ‘high-risk’ surgery to remove air trapped in his skull.

‘The hospital bills so far exceed $30k and those costs increase by around $1,000 each day that Matt spends in hospital,’ fundraiser organisers wrote at the time.

Fans have left messages of support on Ms Mills’ Instagram page, where she has almost 120,000 followers.

‘Speedy recovery,’ one wrote.

‘Think you should put a sale on your OF,’ another suggested.

‘Only way you’re going to get any money from people for your head injury and maybe the sales will pay for you to get insurance in the future.’
