Australian drag queen ‘Gingzilla’ became an overnight sensation last month, with her America’s Got Talent audition.
Gingzilla’s take on the Tom Jones hit She’s a Lady, resulted in over three million online views in just two weeks.
Appearing on Friday’s Today Extra, the bearded star, real name Ben Hudson, revealed what it means to be a ‘glam monster’.

‘(A) glam monster is someone who embodies both the beauty and the grotesque, (as well as) the in-your-face and the demure,’ Gingzilla told hosts Richard Wilkins and Sonia Kruger.
Gingzilla described her overnight fame as ‘absolutely mental’ and is ‘over the moon’.
Last month, Ben transformed into Gingzilla to perform a rendition of Tom Jones hit She’s a Lady, on America’s Got Talent.
Gingzilla emerged on stage in a fitted blazer, pants and heels, with a curly ginger mane, beard and dramatic eye makeup.
The audition saw the judges dancing in their seats, and racked up over three million online views in just two weeks.

‘I confuse people, I blur the line. And that is scary for most people,’ he admitted.
‘Gingzilla makes them question their own gender and sexuality, and how they are perceived,’ Ben continued.
‘My embodiment of the extremes of gender – very sensual and feminine while also being macho and grotesque – elicits a visceral reaction.’
