Australian jumper with typo sells like hot cakes n Sydney

  • A misspelled jumper is selling strongly in Sydney despite having a glaring error
  • The jumper features a kanagaroo and the words ‘Australia Dwon Under’
  • Retailers have been advised to knock the price down, which has led to high sales

A classic Aussie stitch-up on a Chinese-made jumper is selling like hot cakes thanks to an unfortunate twist on a familiar slogan.

A brightly-coloured range of jumpers being sold in Sydney feature a kangaroo and the words ‘Australia’ and ‘Dwon Under’, instead of the more conventional ‘Down Under’.

The misspelled merchandise is selling well despite its poor spelling, according to A Current Affair.

The brightly-coloured jumpers have a glaring spelling mistake, with ‘Dwon Under’ on the front

Due to the typo the price of the garment has been knocked down to $10 each

A shop-owner said the company who made the jumpers advised retailers to take the price down to only $10 each.

That discount has meant they are proving popular even with their glaring inaccuracy.

‘Some people recognise [the typo] but they don’t mind because it’s a good piece anyway,’ another shopkeeper said.

People on the street who were stopped and asked about the jumper’s quirky spelling were mostly unable to notice it at first glance, before having a chuckle once they spotted it.

Despite the spelling mistake on the front the jumpers are still selling well due to their price
