‘I felt like I had to run a marathon to try and get anything from her’: Australian radio host the worst celebrity interview she’s ever done

Australian radio host Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond has revealed that a chat with American comedian and actress Amy Schumer was one of the worst celebrity interviews she’s ever done.

Speaking on her KIIS FM show The 3pm Pick Up this week, Monty said Amy was hard to talk to as kept ‘shutting down’ while doing a press tour Down Under for her 2015 film Trainwreck.

Monty said it was hard to get any good lines from Amy, now 40, when they sat down for a 15-minute chat.

‘I got time to warm her up and we had a good chat, but it was one of the hardest interviews I’ve ever, ever done,’ Monty said.

‘I walked away sweating… I felt like I had ran a marathon to try and get anything from her, she shut down.’

Monty’s co-host Kate Langbroek was quick to chime in and didn’t mince her words  when it came to Amy.

‘A lot of Hollywood people do this, it’s like “mate, nobody made you come and do the publicity, this was your idea” and that was a breakthrough role for her,’ Kate said.

‘Last year you were just another plump blonde making jokes about you didn’t have the right figure to fit into Hollywood… It doesn’t make sense.’

Meanwhile, Amy made headlines this month for joking that Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are in a ‘pretend marriage.’

Amy had began her post by telling her 10.5 million followers that she had recently seen A Quiet Place II and expressed that she was happy to have watched it in person as opposed to screening the feature at home.

The actress wrote: ‘I loved every second of @aquietplacemovie! even better than the first one which blew me away. Amazing to be in a movie theater!!’

She went on to assert that the film’s leading actress and director were not serious about their relationship before noting that the film was still worth watching.

‘I’ve said for a long time I think Emily and John have a pretend marriage for publicity. But I still think you should see it this rainy weekend,’ Amy joked.

The Office star John responded to the joke earlier this week and took it in his stride.

The actor-director posted a note in the comments section that read: ‘Thank you Amy!… for blowing up our whole marriage spot.’

The Office actor and his 38-year-old wife have been romantically connected ever since 2008 when they initially began their relationship.

Prior to dating her now-husband, Blunt was connected to Michael Buble, whom she dated for three years.

The actress and Krasinski went on to announce their engagement in August of 2009, and they tied the knot the following July.

The two later welcomed a pair of daughters named Hazel and Violet, aged seven and four, respectively.
