An urgent recall has been issued for a popular range of pre-mixed vodka over fears glass bottles will slice drinkers hands when opened.

Pinnacle Drinks’ Mishka Vodka has been recalled across Australia after a defect in the bottles was found to present a risk to drinkers.

The glass may slash hands when opened, and there is a risk of broken shards entering bottles creating a hazard when drinking, Queensland health has warned.

The 275ml bottles were sold nationally in BWS and Dan Murphy’s between August 7 and September 20.

The flavours affected include Tasty Apple Lychee (best before 14/12/18, 15/12/18, 27/12/18, 28/12/18), Lemon Lime and Bitters Bitters (best before 26/12/18, 27/12/18), Ripe Raspberry (best before 26/12/18, 27/12/18) and Guava and Watermelon (best before 13/12/18, 14/12/18).

All Mix it Up 10-pack stock is also affected.

Customers are urged not to open the bottles and return them to the place of purchase.

Best before dates can be found on the neck of the bottle.
