Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr reveals ‘frustrating’ health disorder

Miranda Kerr revealed this week she suffers from proctitis, a form of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

The Australian supermodel, 41, made the admission on Tuesday to Get The Gloss, saying she drinks one litre of organic celery juice a day to combat it.

She has sipped at the beverage every morning before eating for the last six years to take advantage of the vegetable’s anti-inflammatory benefits.

‘It’s an auto-immune thing and they [doctors] don’t necessarily have the answers to why, which is frustrating,’ Kerr said of her condition.

The former Victoria’s Secret model said she was diagnosed with proctitis while she was pregnant with her second son Hart, who she shares with husband Evan Spiegel.

Kerr revealed she has a special drawer in her fridge which she keeps stocked with celery by visiting her local famer’s market twice a week.

The brunette beauty believes drinking a litre of celery juice every day has helped improve her gut health, saying her recent colonoscopy showed she’s in remission.

Kerr went on to say she tries to encourage her family to drink the juice as well.

‘I kind of enforce it, but my husband always has his coffee first—he’s like, nothing is gonna take me away from my coffee!’

Kerr shares son Flynn, 13, with her ex husband Orlando Bloom who she was with from 2010 to 2013.

She went on to marry Spiegel, the CEO of Snapchat, in 2017 and the couple share three sons—Hart, six, Myles, five, and Pierre, seven months.

Kerr remains close with Bloom and his fiancée Katy Perry, with the singer, 39, previously saying their relationship dynamic was that of a ‘modern family’.

The Aussie supermodel rose to fame at the age of 13 after winning Dolly Magazine’s modelling competition.

She then went on to become Australia’s first Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2007.

Kerr now runs her own skincare company, Kora Organics.
