Aussie tennis star Nick Kyrgios has admitted his infamous on-court tantrums are in fact a calculated tactic, and revealed he thinks he would’ve won the Wimbledon final if he was playing anyone else but Novak Djokovic.
Kyrgios was his typically open self on Tuesday, hosting a Q&A session on his Instagram stories, inviting fans to ‘ask away’ for a bit of ‘Nick Kyrgios honesty’.
The abrasive Aussie often makes headlines for his manner of play on the field, whether it been heated conversations with umpires, smashing racquets or spitting towards the crowd.

Kyrgios also gave a telling response to whether his tantrums were intentional
It’s something that often riles up fans all over the tennis world, and one was even brave enough to ask him whether his ‘antics were tactical or calculated’.
‘Look at my win/loss record, titles, big wins and prizemoney and you work it out,’ Kyrgios responded.
He has a highest career ranking of 13, has won more than $16million, a win-loss rate of 63 per cent and has nabbed six titles.

It’s safe to say King Kyrgios is inferring they are indeed a deliberate tactic.
The Wimbledon runner-up played in his first ever Grand Slam final during the event, going down 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 in a spirited performance against one of the greatest players of all time.
When one user asked Kyrgios what his ‘biggest lesson’ from his first singles Slam final was, Kyrgios didn’t have many regrets.

‘Honestly, I feel as if my first Slam final was impressive,’ Kyrgios wrote.
‘Next time I would try to ride the emotional wave a little smoother, but I realise how much was on the line.
‘I feel if I was up against anyone else but (Novak) Djokovic in the final, with the way I play, I would have won,’ wrote Kyrgios.
During the Q&A, Kyrgios also revealed he and girlfriend Costeen Hatzi will be trying for their first child next year.

Kyrgios and Hatzi enjoyed a spot of rest and relaxation in the Bahamas after an exhausting Wimbledon campaign.
He is currently in America ahead of the US Open, which begins on August 29.
He pulled out of the Atlanta Open this week, citing an unspecified injury; though he was still healthy enough to play doubles with fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis.
