Avengers: Endgame is returning to theaters next week with additional content and a chance to beat Avatar’s box office record

Although it only hit theaters a couple months ago, Avengers: Endgame is about to return to the big screen.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige made the revelation while promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home, according to Screen Rant. 

The climactic installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe will make its return next week with some extra content.

Feige told Screen Rant: ‘Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. 

‘If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.’

The new version will hit theaters June 28.

James Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi film, which also stars the MCU’s Zoe Saldana, holds the title of highest-grossing movie worldwide, raking in $2.788 billion.

But with summer blockbusters like Dark Phoenix and Men In Black: International hitting screens, the film’s momentum recently slowed down.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the next release in the MCU, coming to theaters July 2.

Several other projects are in the works including Black Widow, Shang-Chi and The Eternals, as well as sequels to Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The franchise is also expanding to streaming series, thanks to Disney Plus, which will feature spin-off shows focusing on Falcon and Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch and Vision, Loki and a rumored Hawkeye series.
