Fans have joked on social media as an advertising campaign featuring Jack Grealish resurfaced after he missed out on England’s squad for the tournament.

Grealish was one of several notable omissions as Gareth Southgate whittled his provisional squad down ahead of Friday’s deadline.

James Maddison was another to miss out at the final hurdle, with the Spurs midfielder taking to social media to express his disappointment.

Meanwhile Harry Maguire, who was expected to start for England in Germany, will also not be part of the squad due to injury.

The other five players to miss out on a place in the 26-man squad were: Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, Jarrad Branthwaite and James Trafford.

Grealish featured a second-half substitute against Bosnia on Monday, but will not add to his 36 England caps at the tournament in Germany.

The news will no doubt have been hugely disappointing for the 28-year-old, who endured a season of mixed form despite Man City retaining their Premier League crown for the fourth consecutive year.

To add insult to injury, fans have been sharing clips of adverts starring Grealish ahead of Euro 2024, produced as part of the ‘Up Your Game’ campaign by British condiments brand Hellmann’s.

One fan joked: ‘Hey @Hellmanns, you might need to re-think your Euro 2024 marketing campaign…’

Another added: ‘Apparently when Grealish was told he wasn’t in the squad he just quietly muttered “But what about those ads I’m in for Hellmann’s?”.’

In April the former Aston Villa star shared a video on his Instagram of himself with Laura Woods, describing his ideal burger in a sponsored post for the company.
