Baby becomes multimillionaire property owner at just two days old as wealthy grandfathers who were Britain’s first gay dads gift her £1m house and £5m trust fund
- Barrie Drewitt-Barlow has said he can’t wait to spoil his granddaughter Marina
A baby has become a multimillionaire property owner at just two days old after her rich grandfathers gifted her a £1million house and a £5million trust fund.
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow made history with his ex-husband Tony Drewitt-Barlow in 1999, when they became the first gay couple to be registered as parents after welcoming twins Saffron and Aspen via surrogacy, followed by a son, Orlando.
Barrie separated from Tony in 2019 and got together with his new partner Scott Hutchinson, who used to date his daughter, with the pair welcoming a daughter Valentina in October 2020 and son Romeo in 2022.
The businessman, 51, said to be worth £200million, has now congratulated his daughter Saffron on her baby girl and said he ‘can’t wait to spoil her’.
‘I just bought her a new house this weekend worth £1million and I’ve instructed a team of interior designers to go in and totally renovate it for her,’ he told The Sun.
‘Aspen just bought them a £5,000 Dior pram and pushchair.’
He added: ‘And as this is Tony’s first grandchild, he has set up a £5million trust fund for her, so she is already a multimillionaire.’

‘The last couple of weeks has been very traumatic but finally today – my new princess arrived!!
‘I would like to introduce you all to Marina Drewitt-Barlow-Tucker born 36 weeks and 3 days… 24.06.2023. 6lbs 9oz, 3:58am – Tony Drewitt-Barlow and I could not be prouder of Saffron Drewitt-Barlow and Conor Tucker for producing this little Princess for our family!
‘Our first granddaughter and a new princess to spoil x.’
He then posted a second photo with Saffron holding Marina in a hospital bed, and said they were his two princesses.
Marina is poignantly named after Conor’s mother, who died several years ago, according to reports.
Saffron also posted a photo of her with her baby girl in hospital, describing her as ‘our little princess’.
Barrie said Saffron had been ‘incredible’ and made him proud.
The couple got married on May 10 this year when Saffron was pregnant

Barrie, who also has another son named Collin from a heterosexual relationship he had when he was younger, reportedly bought his son Romeo a £250,000 yacht when he was born.
Romeo’s first outfit was also a newborn baby Gucci outfit that Scott bought.
Barrie and Tony made history in 1999 after they became Europe’s first same-sex couple to use a surrogate.
After a court battle, they were named as ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two’ instead of mother and father on the birth certificate.
Barrie and Tony separated in 2019 and shortly afterwards Barrie began dating Scott.
