A one-year-old baby’s body was found just two hours after reports came in that it was violently abducted from its mother in South Carolina.

Harlee Lane Lewis was found dead ‘hidden inside a diaper box’ just 1,000 yards from her Chesterfield County home, according to Sheriff Jay Brooks.

The baby’s cause of death has not been revealed, according to reports from WISTV.

An Amber Alert had been issued for the girl an hour after she was reported missing but that has since been ended.

Harlee’s mother, 19-year-old Breanna Lewis, had alerted authorities and told them that she was walking to her mailbox, while carrying her daughter, when a man in a gold and tan SUV hopped out his vehicle.

She claimed that the man punched her several times in the head before taking the baby with him.

The man was described as being six-foot-two inches, white and having a beard.

Police detained the woman and now list her as the primary suspect in connection to the 11-month-old’s death.

Their family members are also being questioned and FBI is assisting with the case.

Lewis was charged with filing a false police report.
