A baby has been rushed to hospital after cops were called to a ‘major incident’ at a luxury apartment and hotel block.

Police and paramedics rushed to Avani Adelaide Residences on Franklin Street in Adelaide at about 6.30am on Sunday morning. 

Emergency services are understood to have been responding to a mental health incident.

A baby was rushed from the luxury aparthotel to hospital and was conscious.

The baby did not require oxygen.

A man, believed to be the father, accompanied the infant out of the building.

Another person was also taken to hospital on a stretcher.
