He spent his 31st birthday without his Bachelor winner on Monday, as the couple continue to stay apart ahead of the show’s finale.
But it appears Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert’s leading lady was not far from his mind as he went for a stroll with a male pal in his hometown of Perth.
The former Survivor star was seen smiling as he received a text during the walk.

The 31-year-old hunk was glued to his phone as he chatted away with his pal.
Locky showed off his incredibly muscular physique and an array of tattoos in a pair of white shorts, a black T-shirt, black sneakers and a matching black baseball cap.
Meanwhile, 4,000km away in Sydney, brunette beauty Bella Varelis, who was an early bookies’ favourite to win Locky heart, was photographed smiling away as she chatted on the phone last Wednesday.
The marketing professional was grinning from ear to ear, and it’s possible she was speaking to Locky.

According to betting agency Sportsbet, Bella is tipped for second place ($2.85) behind front-runner Irena Srbinovska ($1.60), a nurse from Melbourne.
Interestingly, before The Bachelor premiere on August 12, she and Irena had been TAB’s joint favourites to win, with odds of $2.50 each.
It wasn’t until after the first episodes went to air that Irena, 31, emerged as the clear favourite and Bella’s odds started to lengthen.

Locky, a two-time Australian Survivor contestant, is staying in Perth during the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite living on the opposite side of the country, he is believed to still be in a relationship with his winning contestant.
An early trailer for The Bachelor hints that he falls for both his finalists by the end of the season, and is forced to choose a winner knowing he also loves the runner-up.
But it seems Locky is happy with his decision, as he told an Instagram follower on Monday: ‘I am madly in love and we are still happier than ever together.’
