Bachelor star-turned pilot Jimmy Nicholson gives his flight hacks – including how to get upgraded to business class

Jimmy Nicholson has shared trade secrets about how to get upgraded to business class.

The Bachelor star turned airline pilot, 34, took to Instagram on Wednesday in a ‘flying related’ Q&A session, inviting some of his 100,000 followers to ask him questions about air travel.

Jimmy took the time to bust a big myth about coveted business class upgrades.

‘The upgrade system is based on a bidding system, so if you’re bidding for points, my understanding is the person that bids the most points or pays the most amount of money will get the upgrade,’ he said in his answer video.

‘There’s no real hack to it, they say be the nice to the check-in person but…it all happens behind the scenes,’ he added.

He also gave his verdict on whether or not you should recline your seat mid-flight.

‘I am so glad someone asked this question,’ began the reality TV hunk.

‘Domestic flights, do not touch the reclining, don’t do it, you don’t need to and it’s cramped enough as it is.

‘On international flights, fair game but I always do a bit of a courtesy look back before to make sure someone’s not about to eat or are sort of resting their head on the recline.

‘Be good humans, people. Don’t use to bloody recline on domestic flights!’

The advice comes as Jimmy and partner Holly Kingston earlier this week shared a beach day with their dog, Billie.

The airline pilot shared a series of photos and videos to Instagram Stories on Monday, showing his outing with the dog.

The old friends went for a dip at the beach, before Jimmy joined his family at at outdoor table.

Jimmy explained Billie was ‘in his element’ after a swim, pats, and a munch on some dropped breakfast food.

In 2022, Jimmy revealed the pup doesn’t live with him and girlfriend Holly Kingston at their North Bondi home.

The Border Collie has been adopted by Jimmy’s parents, the airline pilot said, because they have a bigger home that is more suitable for a lively pooch.

Jimmy and Holly fell in love on the 2021 season of The Bachelor Australia.

The pair moved into an apartment together in North Bondi in September that year, shortly after The Bachelor finale aired on TV.

The couple married at Jimmy’s parents’ home in Sydney’s Palm Beach in August last year surrounded by a small group of friends and family.
