Bachelorette Sophie Monk smitten by Luke McLeod

She debuted as The Bachelorette on Wednesday night.

And during the premiere episode, Sophie Monk already looked smitten with one particular contestant.

‘He’s very handsome. Like, a bit George Clooney-ish,’ the 37-year-old later shared to camera of Sydney hunk Luke McLeod.

Shortly after being introduced to Luke, Sophie said to camera: ‘Luke is very handsome. Like, a bit George Clooney-ish, I think.

‘But he was so incredibly nervous,’ the former Bardot singer added of the 33-year-old. 

Sophie found Luke, a business culture consultant, sported physical characteristics similar to A-list actor George Clooney, 56.

It was revealed that Luke may have had an advantage leading into the show, as he was friends with a previous series winner.

The Daily Telegraph reported he was pals with Laura Byrne, the jewellery designer commenting on several of his past Facebook posts.

Meanwhile Jarrod Woodgate and financial adviser James are close behind on $5.50 and $7 respectively.

Sophie has a large range of men vying for affection, with the 18 suitors spanning a 14-year age gap (24 to 38) and a variety of careers.
