‘I’ve done all this before’: Former Bachelorette star Luke McLeod says ‘lockdown’ reminds him of being stuck ‘in a mansion with 20 other blokes’ vying for Sophie Monk’s heart

Former Bachelorette star Luke McLeod is currently under lockdown like many of Australians.

‘At least now, I can go for a walk in nature and I can make phone calls,’ he added.

‘Back then I could only go out in the garden and we only got our phones once a week to make a quick call to family. So I’ve done all this before.’

New South Wales recorded 345 new local cases of coronavirus on Thursday – indicating there is no end in sight for the gruelling restrictions plaguing 6.6million people.

This comes on week seven of the city’s lockdown which has had record-breaking daily infections this month.

The current season of The Bachelor had its lowest-ever premiere ratings last month, with just 482,000 metro viewers tuning in for pilot Jimmy’s first episode.

This number collapsed to a new record low of 360,000 a week later, following the start of the Tokyo Olympics on Seven.

The forthcoming season of The Bachelorette will feature Brooke Blurton, who will make history as the show’s first openly bisexual leading lady.
