The couple were taking a photo together – or so it seemed to Katie.

Unbeknownst to her, her boyfriend was planning to propose.

He then dropped down to one knee to ask for her hand in marriage.

They shared an emotional embrace before Katie rushed to the camera, her hand flashing her new ring.

The couple’s proposal occurred on August 26 at Secret Beach in Kauai, Hawaii, according to Us Weekly.

They’ve been dating for less than a year.

The couple met in person in May after first connecting the month prior, according to Us Weekly.

And they’ve been in a long-distance relationship, with Thurstan residing in Los Angeles and her love based in New York.

But next year that’ll all change with Thurston relocating to the Big Apple in early 2025, according to Us.

Thurston rose to fame on season 25 of The Bachelor, where she competed for Matt James’ heart.

She was ultimately eliminated but was given her own season of The Bachelorette.
