Bachelorette vet Rachel Lindsay’s estranged husband Bryan Abasolo asks for emergency spousal support and help paying his legal fees

Rachel Lindsay’s estranged husband is asking for spousal support as the pair navigate their divorce.

The former Bachelorette’s spouse, Bryan Abasolo, announced their split in January.

In court papers filed in Los Angeles May 1, the chiropractor is asking the court to  grant emergency spousal support and to require Lindsay, 39, to pony up at least $75,000 for his legal fees, per People.

In the filing, Abasolo, 44, alleged his estranged wife was using funds from their joint accounts to pay her expenses related to the divorce, while blocking him from doing so.

‘I am informed and believe that Rachel has been using our community property monies to pay for her divorce lawyer and forensic accountant, while refusing to give me access to any of our community property funds to pay my divorce lawyer, my forensic accountant, or any of my personal expenses,’ he stated in the filing.

‘Rachel and I are cohabiting in our Family Residence, but neither of us wants to continue to live together,’ Abasolo said.

‘Our current living situation is very awkward and strained. I want to move out of our Family Residence as soon as possible, but maintaining our standard of living is not financially feasible at this time.’

Abasolo alleged Lindsay has claimed the house as her ‘sole property.’

The chiropractor stated he believes that most of the payment for the home came from their shared funds, and he needs access to that money to pay for his legal fees.

The healthcare professional, who relocated from Miami to Los Angeles, cited ownership of the home was one of the ‘main contested issues’ in the split.

‘I placed my career as a chiropractor on hold to move twice for Rachel’s career,’ he asserted in the filing, according to US Weekly.

Lindsay was originally hired as a correspondent for Extra, which facilitated her move to Los Angeles.

The former Texas attorney has since left the show, but has gone on to host multiple podcasts, including Higher Learning with Van Lathan, and has written two books – Miss Me With That and Real Love.

Lindsay, 39, and Abasolo, 44, met on season 13 of The Bachelorette  and the couple tied the knot in Mexico in 2019. The pair announced their divorce in January

‘These moves were detrimental to my chiropractic business, while Rachel’s income and success as a media personality skyrocketed,’ said Abasolo, who works at Beverly Hills Disc & Laser Therapy Center.

He also claimed Lindsay put up security cameras at the house, but has blocked access to them, although she is able to ‘monitor my comings and goings.’

The couple met on season 13 of The Bachelorette in 2017. They tied the knot in Mexico two years later.

‘After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew,’ Abasolo announced on social media in January.
