Baldivis crash: Two brothers Kody and William Bell are among three killed in head-on car smash south of Perth – as their parents break their silence

Two brothers and a young father have all been killed in a horror crash on a highway south of Perth.

Jaziah Thomas, 24, and brothers Kody and William Bell, aged 24 and 21, were tragically killed in the crash on Sixty Eight Road in Baldivis just after 5pm on Wednesday.

A black Kia Stinger and a white Audi sedan had collided head-on allegedly at high speed. Police confirmed four men had been inside the Audi at the time of the collision.

Mr Thomas had been behind the wheel of the Audi while the two brothers and another man, 21, were all passengers.

Emergency responders threw tarpaulins over the Audi and used the jaws of life to tear it apart and rescue the 21-year-old from the wreckage who miraculously survived.

That man was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a stable condition, but Mr Thomas and the Bell brothers were unable to be saved.

A 44-year-old woman who was driving the Kia was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Tributes have since flowed for the young men killed in the horror accident.

Kody Bell is survived by his wife and two young children, a son and daughter.

Mr Thomas also had two young children, one just four-months-old, with his partner Tamekah Locker, with the pair having been together since they were 14.

‘It still doesn’t feel real and I keep waiting for you to just walk through the door and it breaks me apart to know you’re not going too,’ Ms Locker wrote on Facebook.

‘You have been my whole world, my best friend and my person since we were 14 and I don’t know how I can live without you, I just want you to come home.

‘Thank you for giving me our 2 beautiful babies they love you so much and I’m so sorry you won’t be here to see them grow up but I promise I’ll make you proud and do everything we spoke about for their future I know you will be watching over us all the time.

‘You were the perfect partner and perfect dad. We are so lucky to have had you in our lives and we will never forget you and all of our memories.’

Kody’s wife Gabrielle Bell commented on Ms Locker’s post, writing: ‘I’m so sorry for your loss, here with you’.

Kody and William’s father Curley Bell thanked first responders for rushing to the aid of his children.

‘I just want to thank the people that assisted with that accident on 68 road this evening, my family lost our two sons and another life was lost as well,’ he said.

Their mother, Belinda, also thanked those who rushed to her son’s assistance, and shared her heartbreak at the news.

‘Still can’t believe it. Lost 2 sons in 1 day!’ she said.

A friend of Will said he was the ‘purest soul’.

‘No words can explain the heartache not only we feel but everyone does,’ she shared on Facebook.

‘Tomorrow is never promised nowadays and for that being I can’t express enough that I’m so grateful to call you a big brother and for all what you did for me constantly checking up on me, going off at every boy that tries to talk to me.

‘Will you were one of a kind with the biggest heart and best sense of humour.

‘Willy not a day will go by that you’re not in our thoughts as well as Kody.

‘May god love and protect your family.’

Another friend said he would always treasure his memories with Kody and Will.

‘Kody we used to spend everyday together from the moment you finish work to when you were walking to bed, thankyou for being my best mate for so many years,’ he said.

‘We had our ups and downs but we always managed to get through them.’

WA Police Acting Inspector Brendon Barwick said it was a ‘miracle’ there were any survivors of the crash.

‘It’s quite confronting. It’s not an impact on one or two families but the whole community,’ he said.

One witness, Dina King, who rushed to the scene said she saw an engine from one of the cars about 80 metres down the road.

She said she was by Mr Thomas’ side for his final moments.

‘I was holding the driver’s hand and kept telling him to listen to my voice and take deep breaths,’ she told The West.

When a phone inside the car started ringing, Ms King answered it and was tasked with breaking the news to a mother her sons had been killed.

Ms King said the mother had told her sons not to drive that night.

Major crash detectives are now investigating the collision, with police believing speed may have been a factor.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
