Baltimore Orioles land Corbin Burnes after acquiring the 2021 Cy Young winning pitcher from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for a package of prospects

The Milwaukee Brewers are sending star pitcher Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for a package of prospects, according to multiple reports.

Burnes is a three-time All-Star and won the National League Cy Young Award as one of the two best pitchers in baseball back in 2021.

This news comes just a day after the Orioles owners confirmed that they would be selling the team to an ownership group led by private equity investors.

The package of players going to Milwaukee include infielder Joey Ortiz, pitcher DL Hall, and the 34th pick in the upcoming 2024 MLB Draft.

Burnes recently signed a deal with the Brewers in order to avoid arbitration, agreeing to a one-year, $15million contract.
