Barcelona are readying themselves to go ‘all out’ to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz during the summer, according to reports.

The winger’s future is uncertain as he enters the final two years of his deal and Mail Sport understands he is due to discuss the situation with club chiefs.

Diaz has enjoyed a successful time at Anfield since joining from Porto midway through the 2021-22 season, winning five trophies and scoring 41 goals.

Liverpool rejected an approach from Barca and are seemingly happy to let him run his contract down and leave on a free, The Athletic has reported.

However, new reports from Spain now claim that the Catalan giants will push forward for a move this summer as they look to bolster their attacking depth.

According to Mundo Deportivo, both Diaz and Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams have caught the attention of Hansi Flick’s side as they head into the window but, due to the latter’s immense contract at his current club, Diaz is the more viable option.

Liverpool are open to selling the 28-year-old provided the price is right and they can source an adequate replacement.

Diaz blew hot and cold this season but still had a grand impact overall, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists in 50 appearances as Liverpool won the Premier League.

Dias, speaking on international duty with Colombia earlier in the week, did not commit his future either way.

‘I’m very happy at Liverpool,’ he said. ‘They’ve treated me well since the first day.

‘We’re talking with other clubs. It’s the transfer window, it’s normal. If Liverpool renews my contract, or if I have to stay the two years I have left, I’ll be happy. It’s up to them.’

His partner, Gera Ponce, posted an emotional message on Instagram which some fans took as a farewell message. On the other hand, it could just be interpreted as them insisting on their love for the club.

‘From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club,’ she wrote.

‘We knew the slogan was “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support us every moment and show such unconditional love… confirmed to us that here you never walk alone.

Speaking to Telemundo last month Diaz insisted he was happy at Anfield and relaxed about his contract situation.

‘Yes, happy. From the first day I arrived, I’ve always been happy, calm, enjoying the football played at this great team.

‘We’ll be talking about it, we’ll talk about it (about the renewal). For me, I would stay however many years it takes, it also depends on the club, everything.

‘These are details that are sorted out separately. Very calm, I’m happy and enjoying the Premier League.’
