Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is hopeful of a summer move to Barcelona.

The 31-year-old left-back is on a shortlist of targets drawn up by the Spanish side who are waiting to see if Chelsea’s new owners, who were at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, will be willing to sanction a bargain sale once their player trade restrictions are lifted.

Barcelona have already agreed to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a free and have made an offer to Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

Marcos Alonso’s six-year stay at Stamford Bridge could be coming to an end this summer

Madrid-born Alonso has not always been first pick at left-back for Thomas Tuchel and is keen on a return to Spain.

Barca consultant Jordi Cruyff has been pivotal in identifying potential budget signings for the club and hopes to have room for at least two high profile forwards if they can also offload some of their fringe players.

Leeds United winger Raphinha remains a prime objective and the Brazilian is eager for a fee to be agreed with the Elland Road club. Paris St Germain also like the 25-year-old.
