Bargain Hunt team are left SPEECHLESS after Roo Irvine unveils a stunning mystery buy

Two Bargain Hunt red team members were left speechless by a hefty mystery buy from Roo Irvine that managed to save them from a massive loss.

Letting out a huge gasp, red team members Sasha and Marian couldn’t help but say ‘wow’ when they opened their eyes and saw the huge West German vase.

With only a £160 in her budget, the antiques expert managed to bag the wildcard item for £35 in the hopes it would rake in at least £55 for the team.

Roo’s stunning buy came shortly after the two women had suffered a terrible start in a tense battle with the blue team earlier on in the episode.

In total, they suffered a loss of £26 after their 1930s German clock and art-deco broaches failed to perform at auction.

In the nick of time a violin, which cost £28, managed to lower their deficit of minus £14 after the instrument sold for a £12 profit.

But Roo still had quite the challenge on her hands to try and bring the team back from the brink of losing with her mystery buy.

However the antiques expert managed to exceed herself nabbing the stunning vase with a red patterned design, leaving the pair totally enamoured.

Taken aback by their positive reaction, Roo was all smiles as the women said: ‘Wow. Oh My Gosh. It is really nice. No I really like it. Oh wow.’

Happy with their enthusiasm, the antiques pro responded: ‘That’s a reaction I wanted to get.’

Sasha, who continued to express her happiness with the vase, adding:

‘It is just beautiful, isn’t it? I really love it. Thank you so much.’

Although Roo was fairly confident the item would fetch for anywhere between £55 and £60, Bargain Hunt host Eric Knowles thought she was being too optimistic, quipping that the vase wouldn’t sell for more than £25.

In the end, his estimation was accurate with the ceramic vase auctioning for only £25.

Although, the red team didn’t walk away with a profit – Roo managed to get them the win, with the blue team taking a loss of minus £39.

This comes shortly after a Bargain Hunt ‘hidden gem’ makes a staggering profit leaving an evaluation expert Raj Bisram shocked.

Nathalie and Karl – who were on the red team up against Adam and Jemma on the blue team – had been given the job of finding a profitable fashion accessory.

Meanwhile, the blue team were required to find and make a profit on an item with a Chinese theme.

It took both teams a mere 20 minutes to find two items, giving them 40 minutes to find what they would acquire for their final purchase.

‘Twenty mins down, two items. It’s a walk in the park what else can I say.’

Although Natalie and Karl purchased a Swedish vase for £15, they clearly had their eyes on a bigger prize judging by their next purchase.

They followed it up by forking out £130 for a 1970s vintage Omega gentleman’s watch

Antique expert Raj, 68, was impressed by their speed, enthusing: ‘This is probably one of the easiest teams I’ve ever had.

Although the red team didn't secure a profit, Roo still managed to bag them the win as the blue team walked away with £39 deficit
