Bassam Hamazy and a LAWYER are arrested by police investigating Brayden Dillon murder

Brayden Dillion execution twist: Jailed SuperMax gangster Bassam Hamazy and a LAWYER are arrested by police investigating the ‘revenge’ killing of a boy, 15, in his Sydney bed

  • Bassam Hamzy has been arrested at Goulburn prison for alleged drug supply
  • Police investigating murder of Brayden Dillon claim they uncovered drug ring
  • The 15-year-old boy was shot dead while sleeping in his bed on Good Friday 2017

A prisoner and a solicitor have been arrested as investigations into the cold-blooded murder of a 15-year-old boy continue.

Goulburn inmate Bassam Hamzy, 40, was arrested at the prison shortly after police took a 62-year-old solicitor into custody over alleged commercial drug supply.

Police will allege they uncovered a drug supply syndicate while investigating the execution of 15-year-old Brayden Dillon, who was shot dead while sleeping in his Glenfield home, in Sydney’s southwest, on Good Friday in 2017.

Hamzy is accused of running that syndicate, 7 News reported.

Seven people have previously been charged by investigators in relation to the murder of Mr Dillon.

Conrad Craig, 26, was charged with Mr Dillon’s murder in July 2017, and will face Burwood Local Court in August.

Brayden’s death is believed to have been a revenge attack, after his older brother was accused of fatally stabbing 18-year-old Adam Abu-Mahmoud during a brawl.

Abu-Mahmoud’s uncle, Abdul Abu-Mahmoud, was linked to Brayden’s murder, and has been charged with allegedly organising the hit in retaliation.

Before his death, Mr Dillon had questioned whether he had a bounty on his head.
