Supercars legend Scott McLaughlin and wife Karly announced the safe birth of their first-born baby Lucy on the eve of the iconic Bathurst 1000.
McLaughlin took to his social media channels to announce the birth of his daughter on Sunday morning.
‘Lucy Violet McLaughlin came into our lives on 10/10/24 at 6:12pm,’ the couple wrote,
‘You are so much more than we could’ve ever dreamed of, we love you so much.’
Many of Scott’s celebrity friends quickly took to the comment section to congratulate them on their amazing news.
‘Congrats!’ wrote F1 superstar Oscar Piastri.
‘Let’s goooo! Big W! Congrats guys,’ posted Alex Palou.
Shortly after McLaughlin arrived home, he posted a shot of him introducing Lucy to the magic of motorsports.

The Bathurst champion’s friends were quick to post their regards
‘Start em young,’ he captioned a shot of her in front of the TV.
McLaughlin won the great race in 2019 after after officials charged his Ford team with breaching team orders regulations.
After the race the controversy was the last thing on McLaughlin’s mind.
‘I can’t believe I bloody won the Bathurst 1000,’ McLaughlin said after earlier breaking down in tears immediately after crossing the finish line.
McLaughlin didn’t take long to introduce baby Lucy to the magic of motorsports
‘I put so much pressure on myself, our whole team put so much pressure on themselves to make this a good one.
‘I’m so proud of everyone.’
The Kiwi moved to the US to race IndyCars in 2020 after dominating Supercars.
