Bayern Munich to meet this week over offering Mauricio Pochettino full-time managerial vacancy

Bayern Munich chiefs to discuss offering Mauricio Pochettino the manager’s job this week but sacked Tottenham boss faces competition from Erik ten Hag

  • Mauricio Pochettino was surprisingly sacked by Tottenham last week
  • Bayern Munich axed Niko Kovac earlier in November after a bad start
  • Pochettino could be offered a return to management by German champions

Bayern Munich chiefs will meet this week to discuss their managerial options which include the prospect offering Mauricio Pochettino a return to the dugout.

Pochettino will be one of the contenders to become Bayern’s next permanent manager following his Tottenham sacking last week.

Bayern, Tottenham’s Champions League group opponents, have a vacancy following Niko Kovac’s departure earlier this month.

Bayern Munich are considering offering Mauricio Pochettino a return to full-time management

Hans-Dieter Flick is currently in interim charge at the Allianz Arena and has led Bayern to three successive wins, scoring 10 goals and conceding none.

Flick, though, is not being considered for the job long term. Munich are looking for a bigger name to be a figurehead of the club.

Pochettino is in the frame but not alone with Ajax manager Erik ten Hag among the other candidates the Bundesliga champions are considering.
