BBC Breakfast star takes a major swipe at Naga Munchetty after accusing her of being bored of him live on air
BBC Breakfast star Matt Taylor took a cheeky swipe at Naga Munchetty on Friday after she appeared to be bored over his conversation on the show.
The Weatherman, who was filling in for Carol Kirkwood, appeared in the studio alongside Naga, 47, and co-star Charlie Stayt, 60, to present the day’s weather.
Ahead of his report, he spoke to Charlie about sunrises, with Charlie referencing the ‘glaze’ you see when the early morning sun comes up.
However, noticing Naga wasn’t amused by the conversation, Matt quickly turned to the presenter and remarked: ‘Talk about glaze. Someone’s glazing over. Shall we get on with the forecast?’
Naga did indeed look noticeably relaxed as she propped her arm up in the red sofa and looked away from the two men as they talked.
Uh oh: BBC Breakfast star Matt Taylor took a cheeky swipe at Naga Munchetty on Friday after she appeared to be bored over his conversation on the show
Awkward: The Weatherman, who was filling in for Carol Kirkwood, appeared in the studio alongside Naga, 47, and co-star Charlie Stayt, 60, to present the day’s weather
Seemingly not fazed by his dig, Naga turned back to him and quipped back: ‘You’re very observant, Matthew’, as she playfully mocked his apparent ‘boring’ segment.
The exchange was met in good humour however, with Matt then launching into his weather report.
The fun banter continued as Matt later returned with an updated report, with Naga cheekily saying to him: ‘We’re going to talk to you aren’t we.’
It comes after Naga kicked her co-star Charlie Stayt following an on air blunder that left eagle-eyed viewers in hysterics.
During last week’s show, the duo were joined by barrister Victoria Butler-Cole via video link as they discussed funding for families with disabled children.
While Naga lead the discussion with Victoria, the camera cut to a split screen with Charlie not in view.
However, as the interview progressed sure enough Charlie unknowingly appeared in shot, with the camera panning to him reading the newspaper.
Upon realising he was onscreen again, Naga gave her co-star a sly kick in the leg leaving viewers at home in fits of giggles when Charlie remained unflinched.
