BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty makes cheeky revelation about her bedroom habits

Naga Munchetty has revealed that she sleeps naked.

The BBC Breakfast host, 49, ditched pyjamas in her late teens and now just throws her dressing gown on when she gets up relatively late on the days she is not on the television.

She told The Times: ‘I haven’t worn anything in bed since I was about 16. There’s something very luxurious and freeing about being naked and having clean sheets around you.

‘Monday to Wednesday I whack my dressing gown on, check the news sites and do some life admin before 45 minutes of running or weights.  By 7.15 I’m home and in the shower.’

Naga has hosted BBC Breakfast alongside Charlie Stayt since 2014 and regularly interviews politicians, celebrities and members of the public.

But TV star had recently been accused of being ‘spikey’ with her guests and insisted that her interview technique simply gives people the chance to tell their story in the ‘best’ way possible.

She added: ‘Part of interviewing is knowing when and how to draw out interesting facts. If that means a polite interruption it’s for clarity, not out of disrespect.’

Away from the flagship BBC early morning show, Naga also hosts a slot on Radio 5 Live and explained that she is grateful that she doesn’t work a standard nine to five job.

Claiming that she doesn’t have the ‘attention span’ to cope in such a role, Naga also admitted that that the flexibility of her career affords her the opportunity to have social lunches or a nap in the middle of the afternoon.

But some fans want Naga on TV at all hours, with many last year calling for her to become the permanent host of Have I Got News For You.

The BBC Breakfast host, 48, presented a December edition of the show, joined by panellists Ian Hislop and Paul Merton and guest panellists Maisie Adam and Richard Osman.

During the show, she left fans in hysterics as she made an X-rated quip and showcased her risqué humour as she took advantage of appearing on a post-watershed show,.

Fans were quick to call for her to take over the reigns permanently after making her second appearance as guest host.

The topical news quiz has been hosted by a different celebrity each week since former host Angus Deayton was sacked in 2002 over his alleged use of cocaine and prostitutes.
