A family of bears had their fair share of a picnic when they feasted on piles of garbage in Monrovia, California.

A video shows the moment a mama bear and two cubs tore through multiple trash bags and threw their own picnic.

The adult animal managed to break through one of two bear-proof locks on the can and pull garbage bags out from the narrow opening.

A mother bear and two cubs, possibly the same family, were spotted in May digging through trash cans.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends keeping garbage in bear-proof containers. 

‘When wild animals are allowed to feed on human food and garbage, they lose their natural ways – often resulting in death for the animal,’ the website reads.
