A powerful skin-clearing mask is being heralded as the ultimate breakout-clearer with its potent inclusion of a special ingredient called D-94.

The WHIPPEDEARTH Cleansing Polish ($65) is a first-of-its-kind skincare product developed by Australian company The Clean One Collective.

It’s a facial polish proclaimed to be nature’s magical ‘junk exterminator’ by using diatom-enriched earth, papaya ferment and botanical sugars to clear up pesky pimples.

Founder of the Melbourne company Ece Yilmaz discovered the signature ingredient D-94 almost by accident, noting that the naturally occurring, super soft, sedimentary rock formed from the fossilised remains of diatoms.

Diatoms are aquatic microalgae with shells made of a superabundant mineral called silica or quartz.

Once they have served their purpose on earth, their shells settle in the sediment of rivers, lakes, and oceans.

The collection of these microscopic shells has incredible magical powers that filter impurities out of anything they touch.

So the team behind The Clean One Collective sourced the best ‘diatomaceous earth’ on Earth, purified it, whipped it up with some other skin-loving ingredients, and created a skin-clearing powerhouse that can obliterate even the toughest of blemishes.

No stranger to unexplained breakouts and skin issues that ran from her teenage years into adulthood, Ms Yilmaz’s journey to healing her complexion was the catalyst that birthed The Clean One Collective.

Having felt like her hypersensitive and temperamental skin defined her, she noticed it directly affecting her self-worth, confidence, and day-to-day life.

Following years of failed attempts to get answers from dermatologists and feeling let down by every product she put her faith in, out of the blue, the universe led her to discover the gift of diatomaceous earth that helped repair her skin.

‘It’s amazing how your entire belief system can shift as soon as you gain some knowledge and understanding of your body and its cues,’ she said.

‘WHIPPEDEARTH helped me gain control of my sore skin, so I got to work on healing on the inside as my skin slowly started repairing on the outside.

‘My husband Oz helped me to believe that I am not alone in this journey to understanding and loving the skin I wear and that I must share it with the world.

‘Drawing inspiration from my own experiences and using my now extensive know-how as a nutrition and wellness coach, I am passionate about reducing the stigma and shame around acne by normalising the varying nature of real skin.

‘My mission is to inspire absolute self-love by encouraging self-care outside-in, so we can all feel empowered to embrace and wear our natural skin with calm confidence and radiance from within.’

‘Honestly I don’t know any other product that leaves my skin feeling so clean and soft at the same time! I have combination skin and whenever I’ve used other products, I’ve been left feeling dry and needing to apply many layers of moisturiser especially around the T-zone! But with Whipped Earth it’s completely different,’ one woman said.

‘Loved the product. Loved the experience. Felt so good after washing my face and felt cleaner and clearer throughout the day! Highly recommended,’ said another.

A third added: ‘I have a very sensitive-reactive, dry-dehydrated skin and sometimes I have bump-like skin due to mild rosacea. With this mask, the bumps on my skin dried out, calmed and cleared without drying and irritating my skin, like other clay masks’.
