BEAUTY BUZZ: Are you ready for bedhead brows?

I’ve steered clear of talking about brows recently, for fear that they were getting so overblown, they were almost too big for their boots. But here is an update that’s easy to achieve. This season’s brows must be textured.

Like Kate Moss-esque bedhead, it’s not size that matters, but texture, so brows should appear to be midway between ‘done’ and ‘natural’. The trick is to run your chosen product through the hairs backwards for a criss-crossed texture.

Get yours spot-on with Blink Brow Bar’s Brow Build. Whisk the mascara-like formula through the hairs and it will leave minuscule, texture-building fibres in its wake (£19, blinkbrowbar.com).

A more full-on look can be achieved when you use a small brush to feather on High Definition Brow Creme, which sets to a budge-proof powder (£18.50, beautyinhighdefinition.com).

Even if your brows are sparse, you can still get the look with subtlety. At Giambattista Valli’s A/W runway show this year, make-up artist Val Garland added a three-dimensional sheen by running Mac’s Lipglass Clear through the model’s brows (£15, maccosmetics.co.uk).

Is it a toner? Is it a serum? Well, whatever it is, The Healing Sap from new brand Orveda is worth slotting into your skincare routine. Said to optimise the skin’s natural self-healing processes, the toner-serum hybrid is applied with the non-woven compresses supplied and acts as a kind of pre-treatment booster to hydrate, smooth and tighten pores and even out patchy tone. Ideal for beauty addicts who love to go the extra mile. £125, harveynichols.com.

This week we’re… head over heels for Butter London’s new Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer in Across the Pond (£15, feelunique.com). Unusual, cool and the same green shade as our Hunter wellies, we can’t think of a better way of seeing our nails through to the new season.

While dry shampoo represents the lazy girl’s godsend for non-wash days, it tends to leave your lengths looking undesirably dry and dusty. So Aveda created the Shampure Thermal Dry Conditioner. A blend of plant and flower essences – including lavender, petitgrain and ylang ylang – this dry shampoo makes your hair look, smell and feel fresh, even when it hasn’t seen an actual shower for days. £26, aveda.co.uk.
