Beauty expert reveals ‘life-saving’ three-product hack for covering zits and blemishes

A famed beauty expert has revealed a genius three-product hack for concealing blemishes and pimples – without anyone knowing you’re wearing any makeup.

Mikayla Nogueira, 24, a makeup artist and TikTok star from Massachusetts, has repeatedly gone viral with her handy beauty tips videos – and her latest clip, which details how to secretly hide unwanted pimples, is no exception.

In the video, which has racked up more than 3.8 million views in just 24 hours, Mikayla expertly details how to conceal a blemish on those days when you don’t want to do a full face of makeup.

‘Say you don’t really wear makeup but you have an unwanted visitor. Let me show you how to cover it, I promise it’s easy,’ she begins the clip – while showing off her own red pimple in between her nose and her lip.

The first step, Mikayla advises, is to ensure that the blemish – and the area around it – are completely clean.

‘You’re going to start by making sure the area is clean. I use just a little [toner] pad and I go right over the top of the area to make sure nothing is on it,’ she explains.

Next up, the beauty pro begins applying one of three products – a green color corrector. Although she opts for the budget-friendly $4 Camo Color Corrector from E.l.f. Cosmetics, she notes that you can ‘use any brand’ you like.

‘Don’t put it directly on the face,’ she notes – no doubt because touching makeup applicators directly to the face, particularly on blemishes, can lead to the spread of germs and bacteria. ‘I’m going to put a little on my hand.’

After wiping a small bit of the product on the back of her hand using a doe-foot applicator, Mikayla then takes a small fluffy brush to apply the color corrector to her face.

‘[Take a] fluffy brush [and] I’m going to take a little bit of that color corrector and I’m going to start feathering it on top of that blemish area,’ she explains while delicately applying the product to her pimple and the surrounding area.

‘Just lightly and slow motions over top. And as you can see it has led to a dramatic reduction in the amount of redness.’

Mikayla warns that the amount of product being used is key because ‘if you use too much green it can look green, that’s why we’re using a very little amount’.

After applying the green color corrector, Mikayla moves onto concealer, explaining that she opts for a ‘matte pot concealer’ – the $50 NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer Pot – for this kind of on-the-spot makeup job, because it is less likely to ‘slide around’ on the face.

‘I’m going to use the same exact brush and dip right into the pot, get a little bit of product,’ she says.

Similar to how she lightly ‘feathered’ the color corrector over her blemish, Mikayla repeats the same technique with the concealer – however after applying the product to her face, she then begins blending with her finger.

‘Lay some concealer on the blemish, and I like to press it in with my finger because it warms it up and melts it in,’ she reveals.

The final step in Mikayla’s hack is a light dusting of loose powder to set everything in place, et voila!

‘And now, you can go out and worry about it less, you know?’ she says, while showing off her expertly-concealed pimple, which has all but vanished from her makeup-free face.

Mikayla’s quick and easy tutorial video was quickly flooded with praise from grateful commenters, many of whom offered thanks to the influencer for sharing such an effective tip.

‘That green color corrector made such a difference, great tip!’ one person wrote.

‘This just saved my life!’ another added.

A third chimed in: ‘I wish I had this kind of information when I was a teen!’

Mikayla also offered some more words of wisdom in the comments, answering several questions from inquisitive followers.

First, the beauty pro advised that anyone who is particularly worried about ‘bacteria spread’ should use a different brush for the color corrector and the concealer steps.

‘If you don’t want to use one brush because of bacteria spread… just use two! One brush per step,’ she wrote.

When asked what exactly differentiates a ‘fluffy brush’ from a ‘dense brush’, the content creator replied: ‘The amount of bristles and firmness.’

This is not the first time that the influencer has wowed the internet with one of her beauty hacks.

In August, Mikayla shared a technique for concealing acne all over the face using what she referred to as the ‘sticky method’ that once again required just three products.

‘Here’s how to perfectly cover acne using the sticky method,’ she explained at the start of that video. ‘We’re going to make these [blemishes] look like they don’t even exist on the face.

‘It’s called the sticky method because our face is about to get really sticky.’
