Beauty lovers are obsessed with $9 Aldi version of $62 Dior lipbalm

Beauty lovers are obsessed with $9 dupe for $62 Dior lipbalm: ‘You can’t tell the difference’

  • Shoppers are flocking to Aldi for the Lacura Beauty Ultra Glow Lip Balm
  • It has been dubbed a makeup ‘must have’ by thousands

Shoppers have been sent into a spin over a $9.99 lip balm which is said to be the ‘perfect dupe’ of a high-end product worth six times its price.

Aldi’s Lacura Beauty Ultra Glow Lip Balm comes in Sheer Pink, Coral Red, and Runway Red and has been likened to Dior’s $62 Addict Lip Glow Lip Balm.

Beauty lovers claim the colours, formulation and packaging make it the ‘perfect’ budget alternative to the famous gloss.

The Aldi dupe, which is available for a limited period each year, has become even more popular since the Dior gloss was labeled a makeup ‘must-have’.

Its shades, formulation, and packaging closely match Dior's Addict Lip Glow Lip Balm, which will set you back $62 at Sephora

Aldi Australia has recently restocked its Lacura Beauty Ultra Glow Lip Balm ($9.99) in shades Sheer Pink, Coral Red, and Runway Red

A Sydney shopper recently got her hands on the budget buy during a trip to Aldi.

‘I’m so excited because Aldi has brought back the Dior lip balm dupes,’ Yasmin said in a video. ‘I missed out last time, so I’m very keen to try it.’

She also swatched the products on her hand and showcased its hydrating formula.

Skye, another beauty lover, also tried on the product after being unwilling to spend another $62 on the Dior lip balm.

‘This is literally a dupe,’ she said after applying the product. ‘I love my Dior balm, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend [$62] again – it’s unreasonable.’

She added, ‘It’s so balmy and hydrating, and it has such a nice colour to it.’

Many others were extremely excited about the re-stock and couldn’t wait to try the Aldi Special Buy.

‘I bought the sheer pink last time and it’s perfect for anyone who wants a subtle pink,’ a shopper said. ‘It also tastes like tattoo roll ups, which is always amazing.’

‘I need the red one, the colours are so gorgeous,’ another wrote.

A third added: ‘The packaging is almost identical – no one will even know the difference from far away!’

‘This is so affordable and feels just like the original,’ another added. ‘Beautiful product.’
