Fluttery long eyelashes are what many women want when they enter a beauty salon to ask for artificial lash extensions.
But when one woman entered Emma Dhanjal’s salon with a desperate plea for lash extensions before her birthday weekend, the owner of the Emmaculate Beauty salon in Perth was horrified by what she was met with.
‘PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your research. This poor girl has been left with extremely damaged natural lashes,’ Ms Dhanjal posted on her business’s Facebook page after she met the woman last week.

‘Her natural lashes are sooooo damaged from the place she has been having her lashes done, they were falling out when I touched them with the tweezers,’ she said
Alongside her lengthy warning, Ms Dhanjal also included a composite picture of the woman’s destroyed eyelids and lashes.
‘She wanted lashes for her birthday this weekend and I could not lash her because she has been left with no lashes…,’ the beauty professional continued.
‘Her natural lashes are sooooo damaged from the place she has been having her lashes done, they were falling out when I touched them with the tweezers.’
Ms Dhanjal continued her post by saying that her client had both ‘inflamed eyelids’ and a need ‘to see her doctor for infection’.
‘Her lashes may never be the same again,’ she wrote.
‘This should NEVER ever happen to your lashes, please do not be scared of having lash extensions applied, if you do your research and go to the right place your lash extensions can be applied for years and years without having a break,’ Ms Dhanjal said.
The experienced beauty artist concluded by saying that these are the ‘worst lashes I have personally seen in seven years of lashing’.
‘I take a lot of pride in my work and this makes me feel sick it is still happening out there. Make sure you are 100 per cent certain you know the background of your next eyelash artist.’

Since Ms Dhanjal posted her warning last week, her words have swiftly caught the attention of people on the Internet.
At present, nearly 2,000 people have ‘liked’ or ‘expressed shock’ at the post, while countless others have shared their own horror stories.
‘I had mine done about 4-5 weeks ago. I’m not sure if it’s normal but they stab and itch when I shut my eyes… and some of my lashes have snapped off to nothing like in this photo,’ one woman posted.
‘I feel her pain as I had the exact same thing happen to me last year – I had to wear sunglasses for a month to cover up the mess,’ another commenter added.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Ms Dhanjal added: ‘People shouldn’t be scared of having their eyelashes done. This shouldn’t happen, and won’t in most places’
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Ms Dhanjal added: ‘As soon as I saw her lashes I knew something was wrong.
‘I was a bit speechless, but I removed them straight away and advised she see her GP.
‘My advice for people looking to get lashes is to look at reviews, and make sure the professional knows what they’re doing. Prices are also important – you get what you pay for if you go too cheap.
‘Definitely look at photos on social media to find out if the place is any good.’
Ms Dhanjal concluded: ‘I do want to say, however, that people shouldn’t be scared of having their eyelashes done.
