Bebe Rexha wishes the haters would stop making nasty remarks about her weight gain

Bebe Rexha stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show on Thursday and talked about her weight gain and PCOS, or polycystic ovarian syndrome diagnosis.

The Say My Name singer, 33, revealed she has gained 30lbs and admitted to being upset after reading the comments on one of her recent TikTok videos.

‘Listen, we’re in the public eye, so that’s bound to happen,’ she told Hudson.

‘I was a lot thinner and I did gain some weight – that comes with the territory. I’m not mad about it because it is true, but when you see things like that, it does mess with you.

‘You don’t know what somebody’s going through, what they’re going through in their life, so it kind of is tough. But I feel like we’re in 2023 … we should not be talking about people’s weight,’ she added.

‘Listen … I like to eat, okay? I like to eat,’ the singer added, as Hudson, 41, added, ‘Ain’t nothing wrong with that!’

The Brooklyn-born singer said she couldn’t resist checking out the comments when she saw ‘Bebe Rexha weight gain’ trending on TikTok.

‘Seeing that search bar is so upsetting. I’m not mad cause it’s true. I did gain weight. But it just sucks. Thank you to all the people who love me no matter what,’ she tweeted.

‘I’ve always struggled with my weight. A bi*** likes to eat. I’m working on myself everyday. Just discouraged a bit right now,’ she added.

The Meant To Be singer also revealed that she’s been writing songs since she was 13-years-old and got candid about her recent PCOS diagnosis.

‘I went to the doctor last year — and a lot of women actually have this and they don’t know about it — but they diagnosed me with PCOS, which is polycystic ovary syndrome,’ she revealed.

She continued: ‘It’s one of the leading causes of why women gain weight and are obese. I literally jumped, like, 30 pounds so quickly, maybe a little bit more. But we gotta just be positive and just show people love.’

PCOS is a hormone imbalance that affects one in 10 women who are of childbearing age. It causes irregular periods, infertility, excessive body hair, acne and weight gain.

‘It’s tough. … I’ve been definitely struggling with my weight and I’ve been struggling with food forever,’ she added.

The Baby I’m Jealous also talked about her condition on Gayle King’s SiriusXM show, saying: ‘I definitely struggle with my weight and I struggle with the way that I look, and it’s been tough for me. I just found out recently that I have PCOS and a lot of women have it.’

And she revealed when she signed her first record deal the label said:  ‘Are you ready to get into bootcamp shape? Because you need to lose 20 lbs. in order to do this career. Like you have to lose weight.’

After years of being overly pressured about her weight, she has learned the importance of controlling the people she keeps close to her.
