Belmore kidnapping victim girlfriend was a big-time drug dealer at UTS from Smithfield Sydney home

The glamourous girlfriend of a man who was allegedly kidnapped and had his teeth pulled out by his abductors was previously jailed for selling huge quantities of MDMA, Daily Mail Australia can reveal.

Peter Vuong, 26, was allegedly taken from a house in Smithfield in Sydney’s west at 5.20am last Thursday before being tortured over six days.

Police allege six men – wearing face-coverings and wielding sledgehammers and guns – stormed the home and abducted Mr Vuong shortly before sunrise.

He was eventually rescued in a dramatic raid by dozens of armed police officers.

Mr Vuong was allegedly snatched while in bed with his girlfriend, Angela Bowyer, who Daily Mail Australia can now reveal is a former member of a drug gang that sold large amounts of cocaine, ice and MDMA.

Documents show Ms Bowyer was given a three-year sentence for her role in the drug group, with a minimum jail term of 18 months.

Ms Bowyer is believed to have kept MDMA at her parents’ house – the same property her boyfriend was allegedly kidnapped from on March 9.

Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting any member of Ms Bowyer’s family had any involvement in Mr Vuong’s extortion, nor that they knew about her previous drug dealing.

Ms Bowyer has reinvented herself since her legal troubles and is now an influencer with 90,000 TikTok followers.

She was previously arrested with her then-boyfriend in a police undercover sting operation into cocaine and MDMA supply in 2017, after being watched conducting major drug deals in her father’s black Audi.

During one of her deals, she was seen coolly counting out $7,000 from a $38,000 assignment of drug ‘buy money’ set aside to buy MDMA to keep for herself.

Ms Bowyer denied any involvement in drug supply, but was found guilty of one charge of supplying 3kg of MDMA and two additional charges of supplying a commercial quantity of drugs.

The drug gang used the encrypted  messaging system WICKR and names like ‘d0peman88’, ‘candyman88’ and ‘unclekracker88’ to safeguard their illegal activities, but were infiltrated by an undercover police officer.

The drug sting, part of Task Force Teribah, unfolded when Ms Bowyer was a 19-year-old UTS business student and her boyfriend was Nguyen Huynh, a Domino’s delivery driver.

Ms Bowyer served 18 months in prison before her release on parole in 2018.

She has since transformed herself into a big-brand influencer on social media.

Ms Bowyer now operates an exclusive events business Cloud Nine Studio which she rents out for photo shoots, brand launches, baby showers and engagement parties in a luxury white themed space.

Since becoming an influencer, Ms Bowyer has also represented brands like PrettyLittleThing.

The business is on hold as Ms Bowyer and her family recover from the alleged kidnap ordeal of her partner Mr Vuong.

The alleged kidnappers demanded their $5m ransom from Ms Bowyer’s high-flying crypto trader and property developer relative Tran Dinh – or claimed they would cut Mr Vuong’s body ‘in pieces’, court documents say.

No wrongdoing is suggested on the part of Mr Vuong or Tran Dinh, a father-of-four.

The alleged kidnapping has shined a light on Ms Bowyer’s past in a drug gang in 2017.

Police from SF Teribah conducted three controlled drug supply operations to bring down the gang, with an undercover officer ‘Jim’ penetrating the group and using cash with pre-recorded serial numbers to pay for the drugs.

On March 22, 2017, Jim paid a gang member a $1000 deposited on a 1kg MDMA purchase, meeting up five days later to hand over another $49,000.

The Bowyer family’s Smithfield house where Vuong was allegedly kidnapped from as he slept beside his influencer girlfriend Angel Bowyer was also where she counted $38,000 in cash during a commercial supply operation of MDMA

Police facts say that when Jim arrived at a Canley Heights address at 3.06pm on March 27, 2017, Angel Bowyer and Huynh were in her father’s black Audi and Jim was instructed to follow them to the Bowyer family home at Smithfield.

Jim entered the house where Ms Bowyer, H and another man counted out $38,000 of the money, then Huynh handed over $7000 to Bowyer and instructed her to take it upstairs, which she did.

Jim then drove about 5km to an address at Wakeley, and was given a plastic-wrapped parcel covered in yellow tape and told his WICKR nickname was ‘d0peman88’ and the drug supplier was ‘candyman88’.

Drug officers later weighed the cryo-vac plastic bag of brown powder and found it contained 992g of MDMA with 53.5 per cent purity.

The police facts say that Ms Bowyer was aware that at least a commercial quantity was being supplied, but that the Crown had not established beyond a reasonable doubt that she knew it was a large commercial quantity.

In late April 2017, Jim the undercover officer was told by Ms Bowyer’s boyfriend H that he could supply MDMA by the kilo, and could also provide ‘nose’, (cocaine) and ‘eye’ (methamphetamine) and that Jim’s new WICKR name was ‘unclecracker88’.

Jim arranged to buy 1kg of MDMA for $40,000, an ounce of cocaine for $7500 and an ounce of ice for $4500, and collected $60,000 of recorded buy money and drove to an address at Hinchinbrook in southwestern Sydney.

Huynh and Ms Bowyer were waiting and Jim met a third man who lived there with his parents, and they went into the back yard to count out $55,000.

Huynh retrieved a black backpack which contained two knotted bags with white powder, a resealable bag with a clear crystal substance and a cryo-vac bag with a brown substance.

After the exchange of cash for drugs, Jim handed police  the bags which were analysed and found to contain 1006.5g of MDMA of 49pc purity, 28g of cocaine of 87pc purity and 28g of ice of 78pc purity.

Agreed facts say that Ms Bowyer was aware that at least a commercial quantity of MDMA was being supplied, but the Crown could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she knew it was a large commercial quantity, or that cocaine and methylamphetamine were being supplied.

The final deal in the police sting took place on May 16, 2017 when Jim arranged to buy 3kg of MDMA for $120,000 and 10 ounces of cocaine for $73,000.

At 8am on the day Jim collected $220,000 of buy money and followed Huynh and Angel Bowyer to Hinchinbrook, where the couple had a disagreement over who would retrieve the drugs because Huynh said his foot was ‘f***ed’.

Ms Bowyer entered the house’s rear yard and returned with a bag of MDMA and of cocaine and gave them to Huynh who handed it to Jim.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested Huynh, Angel Bowyer and the young man who lived at the house, and seized the cash and the drugs.

Ms Bowyer’s three year maximum sentence expired in May 2020.

In September 2020, Daily Mail Australia interviewed Ms Bowyer about how she had transformed her life in just five months by losing 23kg without a costly gym membership.

Ms Bowyer revealed she had weighed 73kg in November 2018, but by April 2018 was down to 50kg after working out in the backyard or at the park.

Mr Dinh is a successful businessman and father whose partner regularly shares photos of his lavish life – including on holidays in Paris.

Following the dramatic alleged kidnap of her boyfriend, Ms Bowyer and her family have declined to comment publicly about the ordeal.

Mr Vuong was rescued by dozens of heavily armed NSW Police tactical officers at the rundown home on Canterbury Road in Belmore at about 6pm on Tuesday night.

Police used flash grenades to storm the home where they allegedly found Mr Vuong blindfolded on a bed, and his teeth and a set of bloody pliers in another room.

Viliami Siasau, 19, Valali Tonga, 20, Sunia Siasau, 20, and John Totau Fahamokioa, 20, faced Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, while Lolo Liavaa, 19 and Kitueau Tatafu, 21, each appeared in Parramatta Local Court over charges related to the alleged abduction and torture.
