Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Alli Dore shares shocking throwback photos of her VERY slender body and admits she ‘didn’t eat’ to stay skinny

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Alli Dore has shared some shocking throwback photos of herself when she was underweight.

In an emotional post on Instagram, the 32-year-old admitted that she wasn’t eating much at the time the photos were taken and that she was convinced that she needed to be skinny.

‘These were taken during a time when I didn’t treat my body with the respect I do now,’ she wrote.

‘I didn’t eat much, I thought being skinny was the only way to be confident,’ she continued.

‘These dark little demons are hard to fight and I know how many women (and men!) can relate to that mentality which for some can push you to forget how to love the skin you’re in.’

She also admitted that she’d felt insecure about being in a bikini on camera during Below Deck Sailing Yacht, but has since found the confidence to accept her body.

‘Now, my priority isn’t to be as thin as I can, it is to fuel my body with healthy plant based nutrients and prioritise fitness and being active for my mental wellbeing, lifestyle and enjoyment, not solely to lose weight,’ she wrote.

‘My body changed so much since I turned my life around and just getting used to a different body type was a whole journey in itself,’ she continued.

‘But being fit and prioritising nutrition means I get to enjoy life in a way that makes my heart sing.’

The second season of Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filmed during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

So it’s no surprise that the cast and crew had to follow strict restrictions during filming.

Speaking to the Unpopular podcast, stewardess Alli Dore said that the cast could barely leave the boat, likening it to a ‘floating bubble’.

‘You are working with your crew all day long and then your downtime is with your crew,’ she said.

‘At least when you get to get off the boat, you can sort of mix with other human beings. We didn’t have that,’ she continued.

‘We very rarely do even get to get off the boat. When we do, we’re isolated in our little bubble. We had very strict protocols for COVID safety that we had to follow.’

While the restrictions were tough on the cast and crew, Alli said that viewers will be happy because it made ‘so much more drama’ than if they’d just the season the normal way.

‘Because I’m a fan of the show, I think about other seasons. Then I think about what we went through as a crew. I’m like, no way any other season can top this amount of drama that we have,’ she boasted.
