Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s second attempt at a happily ever after may have soured – but her relationship with his family hasn’t been severed entirely.
The singer, 55, still has a fan in Caylee Cowan, the girlfriend of Ben’s brother Casey Affleck, who has furiously defended her against the ‘hate’ she has received in the wake of her divorce announcement.
Caylee, 26, who has been dating the Manchester by the Sea actor since 2021, described Jennifer as one of the ‘nicest, sweetest people ever’ as she lifted the lid on their close bond.
‘I love her so much,’ the Caylee Cowan x Mahila fashion designer told DailyMail.com of the Grammy-nominated star. ‘I love Jen. She sends me her stuff and actually it’s pretty good products.’
She continued: ‘I hate that she gets so much hate because she’s genuinely one of the nicest, sweetest people ever.

‘She always texts me back… I’ll be like, “I just saw your thing and I loved it,” and she’ll be like, “Oh my god, thank you, baby. I love you.” I’m like, “I love you too.”‘
Caylee’s comments come amid a bitter backlash against Jennifer in the wake of her split from Ben, with fans claiming her obsession with celebrity, and her decision to make a documentary about their love story, drove a wedge between them.
Ben and Jen enjoyed a very short-lived marriage, some 20 years after they failed to say ‘I do’ the first time.
The rekindled lovers announced they were back together in 2021, before tying the knot at a private ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022.
The following month they celebrated again with a lavish bash, attended by a plethora of celebrity pals, at Ben’s Georgia mansion.
Casey sparked speculation of unrest when he failed to attend their second nuptials, telling reporters he had ‘other things’ to do.
He later posted a heartfelt message to Jennifer on Instagram, jokingly telling her to prepare for the ‘dysfunction’ of the Affleck family.
‘Good things are worth waiting for,’ he wrote alongside a picture of him, Ben and Jennifer in 2002. ‘Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love.

Caylee appeared to offer some insight into his whereabouts on the big day in a since-deleted comment underneath his tribute to the newlyweds.
She wrote: ‘Hey, if you weren’t in town Saturday to take Atty [his son] to soccer practice then who would’ve helped the kid who broke his arm? You’re a good man. I love you.’
A source also told People that Casey had to miss the wedding ‘because of family, parental obligations at home.’
