Bondi café Bennet St Dairy has teamed up with Aussie confectionery brand Darrell Lea to launch a limited edition cookie dough flavour for Valentine’s Day.

The popular eatery is known for its iconic cookie dough that spiked in popularity during the Covid 2020 lockdown when the café started delivering the product to customers stuck at home.

The latest offering, priced at just $13, features Bennett St Dairy’s famous cookie dough mixed with chunks of Darrell Lea’s White Chocolate Raspberry Bullets block for the ultimate treat.

The new product from the two beloved brands provides a flavour sensation of sweetness, crunch and chewiness.

The 500g chunks of pre-packed cookie dough are available at selected IGA stores in New South Wales and Victoria or online via the Bennett St Dairy website (for Sydney customers only).

Bennett St Dairy co-founder, James Meek, said: ‘We jumped at the opportunity to partner with an iconic Australian brand such as Darrell Lea. Their delicious, high-quality confectionery is a perfect fit for our cookie dough.

‘While Valentine’s Day looks a bit different this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and the fact many people will be isolating, we think staying in and baking our new limited-edition flavour is an intimate way to mark the occasion.

‘Whether you’re spending it with loved ones at home or are single and in need of some self-care and self-indulgence, our Valentine’s Day cookie dough is a heart-warming treat.’

Johanna Campbell, General Manager, Marketing at Darrell Lea said: ‘We love celebrating special occasions with Australians throughout the year and delighting consumers with new and delicious recipes and flavours.

‘We are delighted to collaborate with Bennett St Dairy this Valentine’s Day to offer treat- lovers a delicious combination of gooey homemade Bennett St Dairy cookie dough and our palm oil free and sustainably sourced White Chocolate Raspberry Bullets block.’

Last September Bennet St Dairy launched the chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia cookie dough flavours in Woolworths stores, which sold out of stock in only one day.

James previously told Daily Mail Australia he received the ‘unexpected’ call from Woolworths to discuss a possible partnership trial.

‘We were surprised from the response because we’re not a huge marketing machine, simply a small business,’ James said.

He said the interest likely sparked after the café started stocking the 500g packs of cookie dough in smaller retailers – including Romeo’s IGA.
