Aussie TV icon Bert Newtown was laid to rest last month.
And the legendary entertainer’s daughter Lauren has shared a heartbreaking post about how her children will now have to grow up without their beloved grandfather.
The 42-year-old revealed on Thursday her daughter Perla’s third birthday was bittersweet without her ‘Poppy’ around to join the celebrations.

Lauren captioned a photo of her little girl with her late granddad: ‘Happy third birthday to our beautiful Perla Dolly. What a caring, loving, and hilarious girl you are.
‘The life of the party and always making us smile.’
‘The relationship you had with Poppy was very special and you filled his last weeks with love, songs and cuddles. He thought you were incredible and will always be watching over you with a smile,’ she added.

Lauren’s Instagram post comes just a day after her mother Patti thanked the public for their messages of love and support following her husband’s passing.
The 76-year-old posted a photo of Bert hugging their four grandchildren – the children of their daughter Lauren and her Olympian husband Matt Welsh.
Patti wrote in the caption: ‘The love that has been shown to Bert, from messages, thousands of cards, letters has been overwhelming.
‘We just want to say, “Thank you.” The empty hole and heartbreak I feel is enormous. I think I just loved him too much. Thank you again, he’d be so thrilled.’

‘When you have a leg amputated you have to be on a lot of painkillers and Bert had, just this year alone, he’s had eight procedures, which all involved anaesthetics and that affects you pretty badly,’ she said.
The Good Morning Australia host was given a Victorian state funeral on November 12 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne.
